Tinplate

Tinplate is a low-carbon thin steel plate material, also known as tinned iron. The main materials are steel and tin, which are coated with a layer of tin on the iron sheet.

Tinplate, also known as tinplate, is made of low-carbon steel and has a thickness of generally 0.1-0.4mm.

Tinplate: Zn, Fe alloy (Zn is the coating).

Tinplate is a common name for electroplated tin thin steel plate, abbreviated as SPTE, which refers to cold-rolled low-carbon steel plate or strip coated with commercial pure tin on both sides, also known as tinned iron.

Tin mainly plays a role in preventing corrosion and rusting. It combines the strength and formability of steel with the corrosion resistance, solderability, and aesthetic appearance of tin in a single material, with the

characteristics of corrosion resistance, non toxicity, high strength, and good ductility.

In acidic environments, the tin protective layer of tinplate comes into direct contact with the outside world, providing protection to the substrate due to the slow corrosion rate of tin. If there are defects such as pinholes

and cracks on the tin protective layer, some of the substrate will be exposed, leading to rapid corrosion of the substrate.

I. Material of tinplate:

Tin plate is a low-carbon thin steel plate material, commonly known as electroplated tin thin steel plate, also known as tinned iron. Its main materials are steel and tin, which are made by crossing a layer of tin on the iron

sheet. Tinplate has strong corrosion resistance, and its own strength is hard, while also having good ductility. It is generally used for food packaging or chemical packaging.

II. Material characteristics of tinplate:

The main components of tinplate are steel and tin, which specifically blend the strength of steel with the corrosion resistance, aesthetics, and other properties of tin. This makes tinplate non-toxic, high-strength,

corrosion-resistant, and has good extensibility, making it widely used in industry.

III. Applicable fields of of tinplate:

Tinplate is widely used in production and is generally used as an oil and chemical container in food or beverage processing. Due to its strong corrosion resistance, tinplate can protect food safety to the greatest extent possible.

In addition, the metal cutting saw blade on the food cardboard box is also made of tinplate.
