Cling film is often used in our daily life. It can help us keep leftovers, rice and food fresh. It should be reminded that it is very important to use plastic wrap correctly. Improper use can easily release toxic substances that are harmful to health. Specifically, the following four aspects should be noted.
I.Cannot be heated. The heat-resistant temperature of PVC or PE cling film is 110°C. If it is heated in an electric pot, oven or microwave, it will easily become soft or deformed, thereby releasing toxic chemicals. Therefore, the cling film cannot be heated.
II.Do not touch food. Use cling film of any material to keep it at least 2 cm away from food, especially high-fat foods such as ham and sausage. Let the cling film only touch the container. If there is too much food, put the food into a deeper bowl or glass box.
III.Avoid contact with hot air. After the food has cooled, cover the container with cling film to prevent hot air from rising and contacting the cling film and releasing toxic substances.
VI.Wash fruits and vegetables before eating. Fruits and vegetables wrapped in cling film should be washed thoroughly before eating. If you need to keep food fresh, you can first use paper towels or white paper to isolate fruits and vegetables, and then use cling film on the outside to make it healthier and safer.
